Founded by the Late Mr. Justice R. Ibadat Yar Khan, one of Pakistan's pioneering jurists, YKC Legal has stood as a pillar of legal excellence in Karachi for over seven decades.

The firm was established in 1950 at the dawn of Pakistan's judicial history. Justice Ibadat Yar Khan handled some of Pakistan's first medicolegal cases, later ascending to the High Court of Sindh in 1983 and the Federal Shariat Court in 1988. His legacy of integrity and excellence endures in every matter the firm handles today.

Now in its third generation of leadership, the firm continues to serve clients across Pakistan and internationally, guided by the same founding values of commitment, experience, and results.

Late Mr. Justice R. Ibadat Yar Khan

1925 – Judge, High Court of Sindh (1983) – Judge, Federal Shariat Court (1988)

Born in Rampur, UP in July 1925, Justice Ibadat Yar Khan was educated at Aligarh Muslim University, where he was elected President of the AMU Student Union in 1947 — a testament to his leadership from the very beginning of his distinguished career.

After registering as an Advocate in Rampur State in March 1948, he founded Yar Khan & Co. in 1950, handling some of Pakistan's first medicolegal and Third-Party cases in a legal landscape he helped shape.

He was entrusted with the first edition of Maulana Maududi's Tafseer and received acknowledgment in the book “Qadiyaniat in the Eyes of Law.”In 1983 he was appointed Judge of the High Court of Sindh, and from 1988 served as Judge of the Federal Shariat Court — cementing his legacy as a foundational figure in Pakistan's judicial history.
